We were referred to the Cleveland Clinic for a second opinion on my wife's heart condition. They saw our good health insurance and decided that they were going to do surgery and not be relegated to second opinion status. They pressured my wife into believing that she needed the surgery done up at the Clinic and despite my misgivings went ahead with the surgery. They had my wife undergo an unnecessary Heart Cath and other needless expensive tests. After two months of hospitalizations and some $200,000 charged to our insurance, I got angry and told them enough was enough, at which point they referred us to a Cardiologist in our home city of Columbus, Ohio. Even having charged our insurance so much, that wasn't enough for them and they billed us another nearly $400. I was paying an amount online that would have satisfied the bill in six months, but that wasn't good enough for them and they were going to turn it over to a collection agency, so I had to scrape the money together.
OK so its not cheap but in this case you really get what you pay for.
I was referred here by my local doctor in Kansas and I was amazed by the high standard of care. There is a reason that this hospital consistently rates top in heart surgeries. I was operated on by a robot and I am sure that this was a huge factor in my recovery time after the bypass.
In my opinion this place is just the best of the best!! They saved my life.
