My experience here so far, yes this is from my hospital bed, has been five stars. The entire staff friendly, sincerely concerned, and showed that they're being here was to bring their patients to health. ... more />
And then the shift change,. My pain meds and night meds are timed accordingly so the pain doesn't resurface, usually given be 745. It's now 920. The nurse is finally here, minus one of my meds that I take daily. She (Natasha) has been very rude since she came in, and has absolutely no sense of urgency. My pain is now worse but she will not give it to me because she has to go check with the charge nurse about my med that she says " you probably had it this morning." No, I didn't. Dinner today was also not good so I didn't eat very much and she told me at 730 she would heat up a dinner for me. It's 930 and still no night meds, no food, and no sign of them coming anytime soon.
This is not the only hospital, and what people,Doctors, Nurses, anyone in healthcare seem to forget is THEY work for US. WE HIRE THEM JUST AS WE HIRE A VER, A CONTRACTOR, A PLUMBER.
Tonight's experience alone assures me that Bayfront will not be hired by me, my family, or any friends that I share my experience with.
Same night 3am... I'm here for heart failure, CHF, and pneumonia. I took my heart monitors off just to see if I was right about the staff tonight. No one noticed in an hour. The only reason they did is because I called the hospital and told the operator. Starting to suffer from anxiety now, first time since I've been here, I called three times to have my vitals taken since the had only been done one almost 9 hours ago. Whthe pct ( Yoshira) came in she had about the care and concern of an ice cube. Absolutely none with no bedside manner and it was appaernt she would rather be anywhere but here. I told her I was having chest pain, short of breath and she looked at me and said, " your fine...I check your oxygen" . This is someone working in the cardiac Dept. ?!?! Hopefully not after roday.
The doctor nurse and assistant basically forced me to get the second series of shots when I said the first didn't work as indicated on the paper you fill out before you leave. I let them talk me into it... more after telling three different people they didnt work. I am mentally disabled as well as physically and i couldn't handle the pressure. Then the insurance company sent me a bill for them. Edit...the doctors office never tried to bill me for those shots. I have been trying to reschedule an appointment for the last week. When I called several times on Monday I finally left a message and never got a callback. Tried calling them back their mailbox is full is all it says.
I went to Bayfront to visit a friend who was in the hospice at the end of the door the gentleman sitting at the desk welcome me and gave me a name tag and wrote me out the directions to get to that area... more where I was going. And the place is really clean. I will go back and visit real soon.
