The doctors/surgeons seem to have no bed side manners as we had a family member taken there after a bad accident and were very disappointed in how he was treated and attended to. It took hours for him... more to have his wound dressed. It wasn't until he was prepped for surgery that they finally put gauze over his face where it was half gone on one side. Had to ask nurses multiple times for assistance. They kept saying each time "sorry we forgot". This is totally unacceptable for such a large hospital, especially when the nurses stations were for the most part empty. With significant damage to one of his eyes, they did not even have a specialist check his vision. Said this could be done as an "out patient". Again, totally unacceptable. When we were there, this part of the hospital seemed to be virtually empty so not understanding the lack of sympathy or care.
I took my mother to the ER there and it was a disaster. They had no idea what was wrong with her and are not equipped to deal with anything other than the standard ER issues. If you have a systemic disease... more stay away! They never actually looked at her but ran a bunch of tests and then kept staring at the computer, and actually discharged her when she couldn't sit up in bed, her kidneys were failing and she could not swallow. I refused to take her home so they put her in some transitional area while a parade of doctors came by for days until she was finally allowed a real room. The nurses woke her up every couple hours all night long to take her vital signs and blood not because she needed it but because she was a medicare patient and they wanted to get paid for doing it (admitted this). Then they misdiagnosed her and put her on prednisone and low and behold she had metastatic breast cancer 6 months later!
I normally won't give reviews on a hospital but today I'm going to. I visited the ER today an I have never been so DISRESPECTED. This nurse Emily interrogated me about how far along I am. I wasn't even... more there for that I was there for my arm. She made me extremely upset, if a patient says they're about whatever week's don't interrogate them basically you're calling them a liar. I hate dealing with people like her ,you're there to do your job not cross examine a patient she's in the wrong field.
