My mom had surgery and an overnight stay at memorial regional last week. Her treatment was adequate, but overnight they heard an elderly man screaming “Help me!” over and over until her husband finally... more went out to see what was going on. When he asked the nurses if the man was okay they responded “What are you talking about?”. As if on cue the man yelled “Help me!!”. A nurse rolled her eyes and said “I’ll check on him...” Another woman screamed for over an hour “Please! I just need to pee!” And the worst, most heartbreaking part, is that the next morning, the nurses stood outside of my mom’s room making fun of the elderly man who they ignored while he begged for help.
If it can be avoided, you should never, ever go to this hospital. If it can’t be avoided, at the very least, don’t stay there alone.
