Went to the er for really high blood pressure 166 over 100 chest pain arm and neck pain
They didn't even check my vitals right away
There was only 1 person there before me I was sent to the... more waiting room then 5 mins later a man walks in for a sleep study waited about another 10 mins then they come out to get the man for a sleep study before me.
Like really? So I just left totally ridiculous.
I guess symptoms of a heart attack aren't a real emergency. If you need a sleep study though you will be seen quickly.
Coming off any cruise or anything else request to go to Orlando Hospital. The doctors that my mom have had have been great , even the nurses. Untill hetring to the bu 2nd floor is horrible. Sharing... more rooms and the other person keeps a tv on and snores. No sleep for the sick. The rude head nurse Christiana should be fired. Nurses are supposed to be caring and compassionate. She should change professions, The hospital is very old, just does not feel clean.
Average service/care. Nothing special, nothing bad. I am an emergency physician, 19 years experience, so have some sense of what to expect with wait times, customer service measures and overall patient... more experience. I can also judge the quality of medical care based on how the patient is examined, tests ordered, treatments offered, diagnosis and discharge instructions. This is an old emergency department and needs a physical overhaul. Patient space was small, with curtains. Most ED rooms today are private rooms and spacious. Overall the facility was clean, but the interior is showing wear. Reception staff (Julie) was very courteous and obviously cares about helping patients. Security is heavy in the ED. I saw 6 different security guards while in the waiting room. Everyone is wanded and bags are searched. Dave was very polite and respectful. You can't complain about security these days. Glad they do a good job. Triage was slower than average, (25 minutes after arrival), then they called back four patients in four minutes. The PA was thorough in testing and diagnosis seems accurate. The nurse who seemed to be the primary patient nurse was very rude to me as a guest. She was sarcastic and flippant without provocation. She asked me if she had been rude, so she knew that she was, but never offered an apology. No sense of customer service recovery. I did not see her name or I would mention her directly. Three hour visit was not bad. Again, basic visit, ok experience.
Rate of readmission after discharge from hospital (hospital-wide)
Rate - 15.4% (0.6% below the national rate)
