My first appointment meeting one of the doctors on staff was yesterday afternoon scheduled at 1:20pm. My husband and I showed up at 1pm as my apt reminder stated we should arrive 20 minutes early. The... more receptionist reminded me that my apt wasn't until 1:20 and looked at us oddly like we were there too early. We didn't get into our room until about 1:40pm. The doctor then came in, Dr. Carrie C. Sanan, who was less than friendly and proceeded to ask very short, fast questions and seemed impatient with us while doing so with both hands on her hips. It genuinely felt like we were wasting her time. When we asked questions she seemed annoyed that she was required to answer them. For this apt I was required to get a pap smear; being a female I've had plenty in my time. She was rough, hurried and seemed impatient to get on with it. She was in the office for about 5 minutes without so much as asking how we were doing/feeling. She was incredibly insensitive and made us feel like idiots. Once she left the office I immediately started crying. We will not be going back and they have luckily sent me an email today asking for feedback on my apt yesterday, which I will be gladly responding to. This was the worst pap smear I've ever experienced in over 10 years. My male doctor is more gentle and personable than this woman, which is extremely disappointing. If you want to feel like you're a piece of cattle being herded through their office, by all means - see this doctor. For my first pregnancy I would have appreciated someone nicer and personable; or just someone who TRIED to be. I understand that everyone has bad days; who knows maybe she is actually a nice person. But genuine I do not think she is. She had a clear distaste as soon as she walked into the room. My husband and I decided after she stepped out of the office that we would not be returning and cancelled any future appointments with Christ. She may just be one doctor out of many good doctors but we will not be taking the chance of her being in the line up of delivering our child. I do not think it would be a gentle birth.
