Recently I was transported by ambulance to the emergency room at this hospital. So this review is for that experience.
I had been trying to pass a kidney stone for 4 days. On day 4 (after... more basically being ignored by the local walk-in clinic),and because of excruciating pain I had to call an ambulance to transport me to the ER at Community Regional Medical Center.
I was brought in, put into a small cubicle in the green zone, and over the next 7 hours seen, probed, and examined by at least three doctors, 2 nurses, and 1 medical student. After about the first 2 hours I was given something for the pain. Finally – some relief. Two ultrasounds at bedside, and one in the proper ultrasound facility later, I'm visited by my attending physician who tells me I would released soon. I'm given a referral to visit an on-campus lab, and the on-campus urology clinic in 2-3 days.
Three days later, still in lots of pain, I drive to the lab and clinic. Both tell me, that they cannot see me. Their reasoning – these on-campus facilities are for Medi-Cal and not those with private insurance like me. Apparently, the ER doctor did not check for my insurance status before referring me to these places. Fortunately, one of the receptionists at the urology clinic gives me the number for the local Urology Associates of California office, and after a visit in person, and lots of pleading, I get an appointment with a real urologist.
I'm now scheduled for out-patient surgery, 15 days in to this horrible experience with no real help from any of the preceding medical providers.
My experience at CRMC-ER did not provide any real positive results for me. I'm disappointed with lack of care or follow-up from this facility.
A lot of people complain about
Waiting In the hallway, @ least all the hospital staff Is very patient & professional & above all courteous to everyone the emergency nurses @ FRESNO COMMUNITY HOSPITAL... more ARE THE BEST
my dad had fluids in his lungs (ammonia or something) and instead of having him on a wheelchair or a bed for him to lay down in, all the waiting seats were taken and my dad was on the floor sitting, and... more my dad wanted to lay on the floor because of the pain. they doctors told him he couldn't lay down either. when i tried to tske my dad out of the hospital, they called security on me. I had to get my brother to come by to help me get my dad out and into Clovis community hospital. was just a huge mess. i would give a negative star if I could. for doctors to yell at us saying we can't take my dad to a better hospital is very unprofessional.
