My only advice and the reason I'm giving 4 stars is because dekalbs birthplace is amazing. They are super helpful and only place worth anything here. Delivered both my babies and everyone was so nice.... more I had to wait two hours for my 3 year old to be seen at the walk in clinic just to wait 20 min at ER since I got tired of waiting. I love this hospital I really do but some things weigh them down heavily.
My family plus extended families have been patients within the DeKalb Health system. We've been to the ER, lots of doctor appointments, etc, plus procedures and operations done at this hospital. I cannot... more say a bad word about any one time. My doctor's office will call if a test comes back and I need to schedule again with them. My mother was also there years and years ago when she had gastric cancer, so I've been through all kinds of areas. That is the reason I started at the facility after my doctor retired after 35 years which was fifteen years ago.
It's hit or miss here. Mainly miss. Had to take my daughter in for x-ray on possible magnet ingestion. Took 1.5 hours to get the x-ray people there, another 1 hour to get the doctor to read it as she just... more sat at her desk talking a lot about the lake. All to find out that the x-ray techs didn't get the "right x-rays" so we had to have my 2 year old daughter get another 3! X-rays. 6 total. Oh and it was 2am before I got out of there. Not busy ER btw.
