Worst experience ever! Went to get some test done was told they would contact me in 2 to 3 days never received a call back call on the 5 day go shot around until I go doctors hospital voicemail. Waited... more another week called back got told that since they didn't call it was a good thing and I shouldn't worry smh never have I seen people who truly didn't care
This place is awful! Our first experience my mother contracted MRSA. The second time (this is where her surgeon is) she had two major surgeries in a week. We waited in the waiting room during surgery and... more then several hours after because they didn't have a room available. We asked for updates numerous times and were told they were still waiting for a room. By the time we saw our mother she had been in her room for several hours!!!! After the second major surgery (on a Wednesday) she was mentally confused and hallucinating. They initially blamed her BP being too low, then it was her hemoglobin and then due to pain meds. On day 8 (Saturday) they released her to a rehab facility (she had back surgery) and said she was fine and all of the nurses reported this as well according to the doctor, but the nurses had been calling and telling us that she wasn't well mentally. She had been hallucinating (pretending to make coffee and cook and talking to people that weren't there) but released her in that mental state because physically she looked okay. The nurses had kept us in the loop about her mental state and were concerned as well so the doctor was not honest with us. She couldn't move on her own at all so she was clearly not ready for rehab. She was given her last pain medicine at 1:55 and sent to rehab by ambulance because she wa unable to travel in a car due to her physical state. By the time she got there it was too late to get her meds filled so she went without them and her pain got out of control. I am sooo disappointed in the treatment and care my mother has received from this hospital twice. I would have given it zero stars if I could.
I was at this hospital in 2015 for 7 days for a graft to cover a wound from an infection. 5 days would have been enough. Service then was great from the wound clinic, surgeon and most nursing staff.... more Now to my visit start on 10/08/2017. ER staff pleasant, efficient, and quickly got a wound doctor in to see me. Turns out I had a mrsa infection. Went directly to prepping for surgery. 2 days later another surgery to clean wound. I noticed bickering, and inefficiencies by the staff in the burn/wound clinic. They were very busy, but didn't feel confident in their ability to triage patients. It was a complete 180° from 2015 visit. Nursing staff on 4th floor was great 3 out 4 days. Last day was not pleasant. The nurse on the 10th inserted an IV which I admit is not easy with my small difficult veins, but I don't think when the IV catheter is pulled out it should look like a zigzag lightning bolt. Shouldn't it be straight??? I had swelling and still have a huge knot on my arm. The nurse on the 11th had an attitude like she did not want to be there. Also, I thought it was hospital policy to wheelchair people out on discharge. I was sort of shocked when she asked if I wanted to just walk out. I was so ready to go, even dizzy and weak I struggled to the front door, even with husbands help. I have to go back next week for stitches to close the wound. I hope this visit is better.
After I'm done with follow up on these stitches, I will choose another hospital for future problems. I thought this was a premier burn unit/wound care facility. Not so sure. I try to be a cooperative patient, but don't like bad attitudes and inefficiencies from people who are supposedly professionals. Oh, and the food is awful. Most not edible.
Rate of readmission after discharge from hospital (hospital-wide)
