Had a knee replacement there and the entire experience was smooth and professional from the moment I entered. The nurses who tended to me prior to surgery were fantastic, as were the doctors who administered... more the anesthesia. In fact, one was from England and had a dry wit that left me in stitches. Finally, the surgeon (Dr. Jiranek) was a godsend, having a specialty in my area of concern. His kindness and skill made a huge difference. Everyone on my hall, from the nurses, to PT, to the transporters, were wonderful. A special nod to Katie, who took such good care of me, and to Sabrina, the dedicated physical therapist, who had me on my feet right away.
A 3rd world hospital with an undeserved world class reputation. There are small islands of quality care here surrounded by a sea of mediocrity. Cleanliness and non working facilities are a major issue... more here. I would not personally willing go here.
Had internal bleeding waited 2 hours in the waiting room with no meds. When we asked the staff what's the hold up and that I am in extreme pain they stated that I have to wait for a doctor before I can... more get anything . What's the point of an ER of no one is acting like things are an emergency . They prioritized Flu patients over everything else . Ended up going to Wake med were they know how to take care of you. I can not recommend this hospital of you are going to the ER.
