Came in with severe back pain keeping me from work. Staff rude from the moment I came in. Forced to take urine before even registering because everyone that walks in is a criminal to them. Forced to... more give ss# before being checked in despite having insurance and having accrued 0 services. Sign out front said average wait time 11 minutes. I'm writing as I pass 75. Very misleading. In tremendous pain and unsure if I will see a doctor at all.
The PA and the nurses that saw me were wonderful and caring. ER director followed up with a very professional and empathetic conversation. The main issue I had was communication and he vowed earnestly to address it. The overall care I received was fantastic and I'm confident they'll continue to improve their customer service.
I gave birth here recently and of all 3 of my deliveries this hospital provided the worst experience. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because of the care I received after delivery.
1.... more I arrived the night before my induction around 9pm. I didn't receive an armband until around 1am. Then when I got up to shower I noticed that the arm band had another patient information on it. After alerting the nurses on duty, I had to redo my blood work because it had been submitted under her name.
2. I'm assuming that they were understaffed because I felt severely neglected prior to my delivery. I was very patient because I understand that nursing is very demanding. While I was in labor a nurse came in and asked why I wasn't laying down. I was in so much pain that I couldn't talk. My husband helped me explain to her that my contractions were less than a minute apart. She just replied that she couldn't give me an epidural until she pushed 2 bags of fluid first and walked out.
3. By the time someone actually came into my room to check me, more than 30 minutes after my husband told them we needed help, my son's head was already crowning. I then had to wait for them to find a doctor to deliver him.
4. The doctor was by far the worst part of the whole night. She walked in with a less than pleasant demeanor. She wouldn't even touch me at first, she just kept shouting at the nurses, "Does she have any conditions that I need to be aware of!" I understand that safety is important but that was very rude especially when I was not alone in the room. After she pulled my baby the rest of the way out, she had to stitch me up. She took an additional 25 minutes to do so , and when I asked her was everything okay she didn't even explain what she was doing, she just said she was taking her time. During this 25+ minute period I did not get to see or hold my baby. I had to have my husband take a picture and show me that he was okay.
5. The nurses in recovery were very pleasant! Especially Stacey and the LC. There was one more nurse that I really liked but I cannot remember her name right now. The only complaint I have is that they lost my son's blood work and it have to be re-drawn which delayed our release.
Overall I would not deliver here again.
Edit to add: I never even received a follow up survey or any communication after my visit. All I got was a letter saying that I needed to call my insurance and help them complete the claim or they would bill me for the full amount. I was on maternity leave. My job was to get better not call my insurance. That's what I gave them the information for.
My overall experience was amazing! Staff were very professional, cared about my needs, took great care of me and my family. Labor and delivery was fast and I received nonstop care. Best experience I've... more had with a hospital.
