You can build a pretty new building but unless you get some quality, American US trained doctors to work at this hospital, forget it! Most Indian doctors just don't seem to be as well trained and they... more definitely lack compassion. The layman/professional difference is complicated by a radical cultural difference which makes getting proper medical care very difficult. I guess it boils down to money and prestige, unless you are from Laporte County and you graduated from a good school with good grades then there are better opportunities in larger metro areas. So we get the bottom of the class and foreign doctors that are still called doctor that lack experience. My last visit to the emergency room in Michigan City was for a fall at work. Very in compassionate staff and defensive doctor when I questioned their diagnosis. The next day I went to a hospital in Chicago, completely different diagnosis, even the X-rays were read incorrect at St Anthony's. I was lucky this time. So CAUTION using this facility.
Rate of readmission after discharge from hospital (hospital-wide)
