They killed my grandpa, trying to do a simple procedure. He should've been in and out, but they didn't check for any problems. He has breathing problems, and they put him under anesthesia which you aren't... more suppose to do with his condition. They also left his contacts in his eyes, and didn't even contact any of us (his family) that he was actually going in for a procedure. A few of the doctors were nice about letting us know about the bad news, but some were inconsiderate and didn't care at all. Some lady doctor said this stuff happens all the time, as if it was a joke.
Horrible experience here with my uncle ! I am not racist and will not tolerate this behavior ! I am a CNA and I have more respect ✊ than these so Callled Nurses ! Why isn't my uncle being changed when... more needed? Why is he not being rotated when needed ? Just because they dont speak ENGLISH , Does Not give you the right to ignore them ! When they are paying for your service ! Remind you None of the service they are getting is FREE !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Q
Garfield Medical Center has been my neighborhood hospital for years. I've had visits here before; however, this review is on in-patient care. I believe I was one of the earlier recipients of a procedure... more with the Da Vinci Surgical System.
I recognized that the entire hospital staff from physicians to orderly took customer service seriously. Staring with the pre-op nurse (Kaye), I received clear instructions and expectations on the surgery. During my stay, the physicians, nurses, and staff was professional to friendly. The nursing staff tends to be more experienced while the registered nurses tend to be younger (or came off as less tenured at the hospital). I received all the assistance I needed for recovery. While not everything during the visit was spelled out (rather unreasonable, imho), the physicians and RNs worked with me to get me well quickly.
With all that said, choosing a career in the medical field request a certain level of commitment and dedication. I was impressed the care and attentiveness of the hospital staff. Given the typical demographic, I believe the staff does a good to great job navigating the language, cultural, education, and age gaps to carry out their work. These individuals that are "in the trenches" everyday to assist those in discomfort, illness, and pain have my admiration.
