AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU ACTUALLY WANT SOMETHING DONE! I went in to the ER three days ago for severe abdominal pain. They gave me fentanyl for the pain and then had me give a urine sample to see if I could... more be pregnant. I was in fact pregnant, 6 weeks. So they sent me home chalking everything up to being pregnant. They were and still are VERY wrong! Later that day I ended up back in the hospital because I started vomiting and couldn’t hold down food. I have been told I have SIBO which often causes me to have painful spasms in my small intestine and severe constipation. I laid in the hospital waiting for a solution for 3 days but was discharged with nothing to help my nausea or the problem I went in to the hospital with. I am now laying in bed in so much pain because I am unable to eat and unable to go to the bathroom. I have lost almost 15 pounds because of this and yet even the GI team did not give me any solutions! I will be having my baby at Huron Valley Hospital now, I will never let Genesys try to kill me and my baby!
We arrived at the ER at approximately 4:30 on 6/28/18. My sister was experiencing heart attack symptoms. The triage nurse acted like she was being bothered; however, the staff did get us back quickly.... more To make a long story short, we were there in the ER for 4 hours and NEVER saw a physician. The NP saw my sister twice and I think that was only because symptoms were not getting any better. Why would they? They did not give her anything for discomfort until approximately 2 hours into the visit and that is only because I said something. I have been a registered nurse for 30 years. I don’t like the hospital staff to know because I want them to speak in laymen terms for my family so they understand. I finally said to the NP that I was concerned that my sisters BP was increasing. My sister is works out on a regular basis and is a healthy weight of 120#. Her normal BP is around 110/60. Her readings were 160/92. When I said something to the NP this was his very unprofessional and uncaring response. “We don’t chase numbers in the ER. This is Emergency Medicine 101.” Really!?!? I have been to this hospital several times with my mother due to her cardiac history. I have always felt comfortable there until last evening. My sister spent the night and will be having a stress test today. The other thing is they asked her for a urine sample. The staff never came back to retrieve the sample even after me asking about it three times. So, so very disappointed!!
I arrived at the ER 21 weeks pregnant and bleeding. I was taken to Labor & Delivery. Everyone was friendly, gentle, & caring. I was in Michigan on business so I had no family, friends, or spouse to... more comfort me. The nurses held my hand & wiped my tears. The doctors didn’t give up. The staff checked on me. I had an emergent cerclage, which allowed my son to remain in the womb & develop more. He was later born at 24 weeks, 1lb. 8oz. He survived. He’s now 9.5 months old, +20lbs., & progressing well. My husband & I have Genesys’s staff to thank for that. We live in Cleveland, OH very close to Cleveland Clinic, who later took very good care of him but on that day at 21 weeks, I was at the right place at the right time. Thank you from a proud and thankful mom (and 1st time parent).
