Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) is the principal public healthcare provider for the State of Qatar. HMC is committed to actively contributing to and enabling the sustainable development of Qatar and its... more people in alignment with the Qatar National Vision (QNV) 2030.
HMC believes in excellence in healthcare, education and research with each supporting the other to provide the safest, most effective and compassionate care to each and every one of our patients.
To meet the healthcare challenges of Qatar’s growing population, Hamad has transformed into a thriving and integrated Academic Health System which will make significant, positive impacts upon patient care, medical education and medical research.
In addition to three general hospitals (Al Khor Hospital, Al Wakra Hospital and The Cuban Hospital) HMC also manages five specialist hospitals (Hamad General Hospital, Rumailah Hospital, Women’s Hospital, the National Center for Cancer Care and Research and Heart Hospital) which look after patients with the most prevalent conditions, including cancer, heart conditions, rehabilitation, and providing specialist treatment for women and children.
I had a minor surgery in this hospital. Their service is amazing. Good doctors and staff. If you have a valid Qatar Health Card, you have to pay only very less. Even though I was not having Health Card,... more the hospital does not charge for my surgery as my case was some what critical.
Located in, literally, the middle of Doha, Hamad Hospital has been running ever since before the Millenium turned over. Healthcare quality is very good, and making appointments is not as hard as they used... more to be a few years ago. There is a gift shop located in the main lobby (the lobby with lifts to the patient wards), along with a café (The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf) and a mosque.
Hamad General Hospital is an intricate maze of corridors. However, despite being perhaps the largest hospital in Doha, the staff are there to assist you in any wayfinding issues.
The only downside to Hamad General is the emergency block. It's filled with Indian workers all the time. However, currently, a new Emergency and Trauma facility is being built, and not even the blind can miss this - it literally is a building with a modern design and, like any other building in Doha, is sporting a Tamim Al Majd poster.
