I whole heartedly support this hospital, staff support staff and all wbo works for them. Nothing but best. Never a dull moment. I'm always well treated with positive attitudes and smiles. Never close this... more one. Cures your heart without surgery
This hospital, I believe, was made famous by Magdi Yacoub who carried out heart transplants here in decades gone by.
My wife was transferred here as an emergency case about 2 months ago.... more I felt they went through a logical process to determine the next steps in her treatment. She was discharged after a week. There was then no follow up as promised. Her case seemed to have disappeared into a black hole.
After a month I made contact with the surgeon by email, who responded immediately and asked his PA to organise a session. I suspect this hospital, which is linked to the Royal Brompton Hospital, doesn't have a good admin system. It's for this reason I'm giving 3 stars. Patients could be left by the wayside and at risk without proper follow up--a significant risk as the patients are most likely to be suffering from some kind of heart condition.
Parking can be a problem as the visitor car park is small. Parking on the streets outside is also difficult as they are usually full. On two occasions I couldn't find a parking space inside or outside the hospital.
The buildings are all quite old and spread over a large area. There is a restaurant, and a canteen run by a volutary group. Can't say much about the canteen as they didn't have hot water to make tea when my children and I went in. The restaurant seemed busy at lunchtime with hot meals being available. At other times it's just Costa coffee from a machine and some boring snacks.
The U9 bus comes straight into the hospital from Uxbridge.
