It all started with a simple root canal 10:15 which went fine. Met my wife for some lunch thing still seemed normal except couldn't yet feel half my mouth. Went home and about 2:00pm started noticing my... more tongue swelling up, text my wife let her know what was going on. She instructed me to call the dentist or go to same day care and I said ya ya it will go away, but it didn't it seemed to get bigger so after a little while, I started to get nervous-we live about 18 min from Hutchinson; so thought maybe I should go in.
When I left I could still swallow, so headed for the Little Clinic, they said too much for them-go to emergency room. Heading there I saw Same Day care so headed there. They got me right in and all they said was to put some ice on it and called in some drugs and said bye! By the way, I couldn't even close mouth! My wife met me there so was so pissed at them as was I but with my tongue in the way it was, I couldn't argue with them I knew I should've at least got a shot!
So the wife said we are going across the street to the emergency room. We got there just after signing in they took me to a room where nurses just started pouring in 1 right after the other then Doctors right after.
I didn't realize how serious it had gotten but I did start feeling a little pressure on my throat couldn't talk all.
They said if I had waited any longer their next moved was to cram a tube down my throat or cut a hole in my neck so I could breathe.
Anyway I would to give a big Shoutout and Thanks to Teresa Ellis and her staff of nurses in the ER plus the Doctors who were all involved and realize how serious thinks had gotten. I got shot after shot plus IV and stuff ran through it but they where all great and knew what they had to do, so again Thank You all!
But things didn't stop there they kept me over night and the Nurse staff in ICU on the 4th floor were just as great other then me wanting out which they couldn't do they had every other thing I needed to get better ready for me. So thank you 4th floor Nurses! Hutchinson Regional Medical Center was awesome all around!
