Very bad customer sevices and unprofessional people. I register my wife one month in advanced in labor and delivery birth center, on the scheduled date and time I came after I talked to the lady that working... more on front desk inside the birth center on Sept 26 in the morning, she was very bad with lack of customer services skills, when I ask question her repply I don't know and just wait someone will come to help you, after 3 hours no body come to us or asking what we need, except another lady she take me and my wife inside the area before entering the operation room -C section - sitting on the bed for 20 minutes all nurses talking on the office and again no one ask what we want, when my wife's Dr came, asked my wife what happened, why you are not ready, one of the nurses told her we did not have someone available and we busy right now. She can come back after 2 days to deliver the baby, this what happened with me and my wife. Our background is from what they called Third World we never had anything like this before and we are very surprised, next day we went to another hospital, till now we did not received explaination from fair oaks hospital
I had an emergency appendectomy at this hospital. From the time I was admitted to the time I left, the care was outstanding and I couldn't speak more highly of the staff that treated me. However, the... more billing staff, system, and their processes need a lot of work.
The billing department has been awful. The date of service was over four months ago. I have been attempting to collect a refund for over two months now, that was supposedly already requested. I've had several billing personnel tell me that a supervisor would call me back to discuss the refund. This of course has not happened. This all started from bad advice I received from Jorge in the finance department, and now it has caused a billing nightmare. I have attempted to break down the payments and explain to the hospital billing staff what I am owed. I have walked these people through the bills, what I've paid, etc. but no one can figure out what happened to this refund, and why it has been "written off" as they claimed. Billing and finance departments get an F while the doctors, nurses, and people working in the hospital get an A.
I've read through a lot of the 1 star reviews. Keep in mind, that it's possible to have a bad experience anywhere, and that one individual nurse or doctor can be rude or get something wrong. That is true... more wherever you go.
Having that said, this is a world class hospital with top of the line equipment and some of the most qualified staff you can find. It is clean, it is modern. You have to be your own advocate whenever you see a doctor, but whatever care you need can be found here.
I personally have never had an issue with their billing department. I have the good fortune of having great health insurance, and can't speak to their ability or willingness to negotiate.
