This one star is too much for the staff that was working in MRI tonight 10/5/17. My mother was in for her second mri. She is 89 years old and they were extremely rough with her and told her to hollar if... more she had any problems. She yelled for help for 20 minutes and by the time they came back in she was hysterical. They ignored her completely and were rough with her. Her blood pressure was very high by the time she got back to her room where family was. The nurses on shift were of great help, a matter of fact they told Mom to tell the techs not to be rough with her IV ! What in the world! Should never have to tell a care giver not to be rough with an elderly patient. The nurses on Younker 8 were very understanding when I got there, and helped to get the people we needed to speak too. I hope that Cassie in MRI takes a long look at herself.

If you use this hospital you have to make sure you are involved in your love ones care. The nursing staff in the CCU is questionable. They don't follow Doctors orders. They think they know more than the... more specialist.
Keep notes lots and lots of notes. You WILL need them when you have to file a report and speak with guest relations.
If my bothers, sister and I didn't step in to help our mom by spending nights with our dad while he was in the CCU at Methodist hospital the nursing staff would have killed him. It's scary to think that we had trusted these nurses to care for our father. Not only were most of them (not all, we had 4 good ones in the 17 days we were here) lazy but three times they tried to give him medication he didn't need or was on his chart and twice they didn't follow the Drs orders even after we questioned them. Plus the way the nurses treated my mother, Which was totally gross at times. I will honestly tell you some of these nurses should look for a different profession. Maybe one were they don't work with people. The Doctors were amazing but let's face it they are not the ones doing the work and if the nurses can't follow the Doctors orders then there is a problem. And keeping patients drugged up to silence them is not ok. My dad would tell his nurse he wasn't in pain (I witnessed this myself) but they would still give him pain meds and they were the strong ones. He was so out of it then we insisted they stop giving him pain meds he had withdraws which set him back from get out of the CCU and then they gave him anxiety medication which he had a adverse reaction to. When asked to speak with the Dr on call about the reaction we got pushed around till we finally had to have a blow up with the nurse. Then after that it got even worse. It didn't get better till we had a meeting with guest relations and members of the staff. We ended up moving our father to a new hospital for care.
Plus we asked them not to talk to us about end of life care we already had our talks and that we wanted to give him a chance to fight first. We had one nurse that would not let it go. We asked for her to respect our wish to not discuss it and she still did it over and over.
