Went to Kaiser Manteca to see an Occupational Therapist about getting a different cushion for my wheelchair. Only reason I really had to go to Manteca was I misunderstood some information the OT gave me... more on the phone. Fortunately, by going there, I received a lot of other information from the sells rep. Thanks guys!
I have made the mistake of being treated at this facility for the past 1-2 years. Originally I was being treated for the "chronic pain" from an accident that happened to me. Where I was physically struck... more by a truck and my lower back has not been right since. Unfortunately for me, I have been in 5 car accidents within the last 18 months (4/5 were not my fault, 3/5 were total accidents). My doctor convinced me to get off all pain meds so my sensory system can reset and my body would heal. Problem is my neck hasn't been able to fully support my head (for long periods of time) and my lower back causes shooting pain down my left leg that feels like fire. After doing my research and realizing that they never did a nerve test on me, I realized I could have nerve damage. I have requested that they return my pain meds so I can at least return to work before I lose my job. The doctors will not comply, they say I don't need it. I have requested a lower does in pain meds; still nothing. I have been seeking treatment: acupuncture, physical therapist and chiropractor all to no avail. The doctors agree that they do not want me to be in pain, yet here I lay with the company I work for threatening to separate themselves from me. THANKS KAISER (sarcasm if you couldn't tell).
New Kaiser member. Was refered to Occupational Med. from Kaiser ER in Modesto for a shoulder/arm injury that occured on a Sunday at work. Er doc put arm in a sling and told me to keep it immobile even... more after i explained it made it hurt worse, he strongly recommened it ,to which i complied. Occ med doc asked why i was wearing a sling like i had went out and bought it and put it on and said i should not be wearing that at all only if my shoulder was fractured. The occ med doc had stated it was a long day and she was tired. Not a good start to a visit. It just got worse from there. Will seek medical attention elsewhere in the future. Definatley would not recommend seeing the Occupational Medicine Clinic in Manteca. On a good note the reception staff were very friendly and professional.
