There can be no way to thank all the staff at Lawnwood for the care I received there last week for my heart problem. From the emergency staff to the operating room to the hospital room, the care was beyond... more anything I could have asked for. They were a team that saved my life and made me really appreciate everything they are so capable of doing. Clean rooms, good food, excellent care,a well oiled loving machine! I will always remember each one of you, thank you so much.
This hospital is full of a bunch of scammers. I would travel to another hospital rather than ever step foot in here.
My mother was waiting in the hallway for her elderly client to finish... more being examined by a doctor. An employee of the hospital was rushing by with privacy screens when one fell and smacked her very hard in the head. A nurse standing by saw, and took her in a room to get examined. She had a concussion. Now, they keep billing her a $576 bill for THEIR IRRESPONSIBLITY. She has called numerous times, the bill was supposed to be dropped but now, months later she's received it again and another person has told her that the hospital refuses to pay for it.
Well, guess what Lawnwood? Well see you in Court. Your employees are all a disgrace.
This is a VERY LONG POST My husband and I traveled from Okeechobee after the horrible waiting time I had at Raulerson Hospital. The drive time was over an hour and I had extreme lower back pain to the... more point where walking was difficult let alone sitting. Upon arrival I was seen quickly, however I waited in the waiting room in a wheelchair for about five minutes until I could no longer take the pain and actually LAYED on the hospital floor. It was then that I was taken into the Triage area to be seen. The one nurse who really stood out and seemed to have the most compassion at this hospital was Audrey she was the ONLY nurse who actually showed that she cared. I never saw a doctor I saw a NP who was polite. HOWEVER the other nurse that was in that night had horrible bedside manner. She stood in the door way talking to another nurse while holding my medication that I was waiting to take and just took her time while talking as I was laying there waiting. Another issue I had with the same nurse was her lack of courtesy. While I was waiting for my CAT Scan She came in and started talking OVER me while I was talking to someone in the room she didn't excuse herself or anything. Just proceeded to tell me I had to take a urine sample and asked if me if I could walk to the bathroom. I told her "No" and she made a snarky comment about how the medication she gave me should have worked by now. She gave me the cup and just left the room after her comment. I sat in the wheelchair and had to ask a nurse at the station where the bathroom was she led me to the bathroom. Where I was then left there after pushing the call button. I received NO response so I had to attempt to open the door myself to leave the restroom. A lady who doesn't even work at the hospital asked me if I needed help and She pushed me back to the triage area. A complete sweet stranger pushed me back! I get to triage and the nurse who left me says" I was just about to get you." So in the midst of my issue with the bathroom here comes another issue. I was moved from that triage area to a small room secondary to the larger triage. This room was unsanitary as the bed had been previously occupied and I couldn't even lay down. ( I even took a picture of the room to show my husband so he could see how disgusting this was) So I was just simply "dropped" in that room and SAT in a wheelchair waiting to be seen, in pain and very annoyed. The nurse that came to get me for my CAT Scan PASSED me in the room that I was in looking for me I had to call out to him so He could see where I was. I told him how I was not happy and I knew it really was not his fault at this point I needed to vent to someone.... anyone. I get my CAT Scan (waiting time for that was HORRIBLE while STILL SITTING in a wheelchair) and come back to the Triage area. I guess the gentleman told the PA and the nurse how I was not pleased and they both came to me "explaining" how it's a high traffic area to being told by the PA that she has seen "at least 20 other patients after me." and That She knows I want to go home and that after she gets my results she can go home too etc..... At this point I wasn't even mad I am just in pain and all I want to do now is LAY DOWN. I explained to them that I was not mad anymore and that I do understand it is busy but I all I truly wanted was just some relief. So Finally after what seemed like forever I got to somewhat laydown in the waiting room with a pillow on my back and I was given some more pain medication. When I finally got my paperwork to leave I could not wait to GET OUT. I had such a pleasant experience before at this hospital as a patient when I had my daughter. I surely thought I would have been taken care of again. I guess the ER needs some MAJOR work. I will NEVER come back to this hospital EVER.
