They started the process of killing my Mother. She was going to be a cancer "survivor". Her Dr. told her he was writing a profile up on her as a success story to put on his site and that after her surgery... more to remove her Ovaries and Omentum she would only have to go through a few low dose chemo and would be clear. My sister and brother took her into Loyola first thing when they opened and sat there literally until the lights were going off and people were going home. Somehow they didn't notice 3 people sitting in the waiting room. They turned the light back on in the office and started scrambling for people to help get my mother into surgery instead of rescheduling her and assuring her she would get in immediately the next day. They took her in and wheeled her out in a staggering 45 minutes. This procedure is supposed to to at least 2 to 3 hours so they can make sure all the cancer if any is out. Immediately my Mother started going downhill quick. Not long after she ended up in the Hospital in Elgin where they proceeded to deny her nutrition for 2 weeks. Quickly she ended up in Kishwaukee Hospital (the place they send you to die) and they starved her for another week until they started giving her nutrition when she was showing signs of imminent death and were talking my siblings out of hospice so they could keep running test after test when it was evident that she had no hope and my siblings insisted on Hospice. She died 2 days later. My Mother was on Medicare but also had cancer insurance and insurance from my father. Is this the "death Panel" treatment for elderly? All I know is what happened is indefensible, considering they took her for surgery after they were closing up. She told me the 2 Dr.'s who did this. One got paid around $7,000 and the other one $9,000. Her Dr. in Dekalb, IL is also a disgrace. When my mother told him the details, he told her that that meant the actual surgery of removing 2 organs probably took about 15 minutes. He asked her if she would trust going back to Loyola and she said "I guess" and he said he wouldn't. Instead of reporting the situation, he kept quiet and I am sure sending people to Loyola still. My Mom didn't want me to say anything because she thought the Dr. would get in trouble which is something I do not understand. My siblings thought they could trust a hospital that was supposed to have such a good reputation but they treated my mother, ALL the hospitals treated my mother like her life and well being was low priority. In my eyes this is criminal conduct. It was willful and decisive, they decided to bring her in "after hours" and performed a rush job surgery on her. Think about it..15 minutes to remove Ovaries and Omentum. Look it up and you will see the procedure..if done properly..should of taken AT LEAST a couple of hours. They murdered my Mother.
