Went to a doctor in State Center yesterday, for the first time. New to the area, trying to establish a primary health care doctor.
I have had re occurring headaches for years now and something... more has dramatically changed with the headaches. I know I am going to need an MRI I went to the doctor requesting what I need.
I know my body, family history of headaches and brain surgery; I know what I need.
Im also familiar with Medical terminology and worked in the health care profession for years this being said they always want to treat you like your a nut instead of being helpful.
I signed releases for prior medical history
and was basically threatened that I wasn’t believed about my Fibromyalgia until she gets my records.
I went to this doctor because they were recommended to me as a good doctor. This was a very poor judgment on someone else’s part.
I left very upset.
I went in going to a health care professional, with a huge concern with that idea that I would be taken seriously, instead I was not, I was talked down too. The doctor wouldn’t even look up from her laptop while she was typing unless she was saying something rude. I explained that I’ve had a hard time holding down a job for years, and without missing a beat and still typing she said”Is it because you keep getting fired?”
My advice: Drive to Ames. Went for treatment of cluster headaches and was refused any type of medication. When speaking with supervisors i could not get any reasonable answer to why they were unable to... more do what my normal doctor can do in the family medicine setting during his business hours. Attitudes were none too inviting either.
