If I could give less that a 1,I would have.Ive been in Minden for over a year now.Ive been to Minden Medical 3 times, all bad experiences. The staff is rude.Around flu season I came in...they sat me in the... more hall wall by the sliding door...so I kept being hit my cold air....I asked for a blanket,I got attitude from the nurses.I also noticed the staff sitting all the AFRICAN AMERICAN patients in the hall...while all the Caucasians were given a bed. Some of the people were sicker that the people getting a bed.I was close by the triage and EVERYBODY HAD THE SAME FLU LIKE SYMPTOMS.RACISM IN A HOSPITAL IS BAD BUSINESS.I not feeling well today.I needed to make a doctor visit and it WILL NOT BE MINDEN MEDICAL.I have experienced some type of RACISM EVERYTIME I visited this hospital. It is 2018.....As a health care provider, you all should screen these people or at least let them KNOW WHAT THEIR MAIN PURPOSE IS!!!!!!AND I GUARANTEE YOU ITS NOT BEING RACIST!!!!!!WHEN WE ARE SICK...WE DERSERVE BETTER TREATMENT FROM THIS FACILITY!!!!!!UNTIL THEN.....I WILL TAKE MY 25MIN DRIVE TO WILLIS KNIGHTON.I THINK ITS SAD THAT I EVEN HAVE TO WRITE THIS ABOUT A HOSPITAL.....JUST SAD!!!
I and my wife went to ER last month when my wife had a severe abdominal pain. The first doctor we saw told my wife she was constipated and gave her some pain medication that did not really help. The second... more doctor came (I guess their shift changes) and re-examed my wife very thorough and asked many questions. She (I only remember her last name starts with C) ordered more tests and gave my wife additional pain medication that helped a great deal. Not too long after the tests, my wife was rushed to OR because Dr. C made the correct diagnosis, ruptured ectopic pregnancy. We thank Dr. C dearly. If it weren't for her, my wife could die on that day. Thank you dr. C
I will never be back. As soon as we were called to the back, I was rushed to get up out of the seat, and was disrespected by a woman who was the nurse on duty- shehad a wrap on her head. She continued... more to be rude, and had a terrible attitude. I was trying to tell her what was going on with me, and that I had been there the night before for the same issue, and she continued to interupt me and tell me that I was not having that issue, even when I was there the previous night for a worse case of that issue and was diagnosed with that issue, yet I was more coherent and able to communicate better than the night before. My boyfriend explained to her that she didn't need to have an attitude. She argued with him, and he reacted in my defense. She then walked away as we were being escorted to the observation room, and began talking about us loudly, infront of us as if we weren't there. My boyfriend asked if there was a problem and if she had something to say, and she stated that was telling the doctor that he said had an attitude. My boyfriend informed her that she should have had that conversation in private and not where we could hear her. She said "okay!" with a terrible attiude. On top of all of that, when I had gotten into the room, I was treated better but was reminded of my total amount of visits (which was irrelevant), and when I asked in what time frame, I was told that didn't matter, and that I need to see my primary care because I am young and that many visits are unacceptable. I had made the appointment with my primary care physician for 3pm before making the decision to go to the ER but my symptoms were continuous and felt as if they were worsening, so where else am I going to go? I also heard her be rude to a 97 year old man who was tranposted via ambulance. As she was getting the information, she was told that he could hardly dress himself. Her respone to that "oh I doubt that! He's gotten his feet out to the bed". ..hardly ever go to Minden Medical Center unless I feel it's an emergency. I was treated like I wasn't wanted there- to the night before and this morning.. I had a legitmate reason as to why I went there, but I promise I will never be back. I felt uncomfortable! Even the other nurse on duty was apologizing for everything that happened between the rude nurse and my boyfriend and l. It bothers me that there are people who only want a profession for the check and not the willingness to help others.
