Absolutely outstanding from the ER to the ICU to the bed floor. The most comprehensive care that I have ever received at any medical facility that have ever used. I am a very blessed man to have been in... more the very caring and capable hands of the medical staff here, especially the nursing staff there is just none better.
If I could give ZERO stars I would. All of this happened last Friday night after 8 pm. I want to give a HUGE shout-out to Katie, RN AND Dr. Flippin at the NEA Baptist ER. Katie, RN blew out my Ulnar Vein... more ( & dug around so much that my Ulnar Nerve hurt for 2 days). She knew I was dehydrated, she had NO overhead light on, and she didn't even check my other arm for any other acceptable veins. ALSO, before starting the IV she pulled her gloves from the glove box, SET THEM ON THE SOILED LINENS LID, then proceeded to put them on before she started my IV. I asked her to change gloves, she was completely offended, and started making passive aggressive comments under her breath but in earshot of me. She finally got a vein and drew several vials of blood (none of which were labeled with my name or birthday date, whenever she walked out of the room with them). Dr. Flippin then came into the room, did not introduce himself, or perform a physical assessment on me. He was then overheard, by my mother, mocking me and discussing me negatively to another doctor. He was speaking so loud she could hear him at the nurse's desk. I felt so humiliated and degraded! Unprofessionalism all the way around.
Not a pleasant visit today. First they took x rays of the wrong leg. Then had injections in correct knee and heel. That was correct. Oh then told only one shot for heel next option was surgery where I... more would be on a no weight bearing situation for 1 to 3 months. You know I had question!! Lots of questions. I'm a widow living by myself! Leaving the office the nurse said "you can come back and get another injection in three months". I said No you're wrong, he just said only one injection. Oh by the way, now wait for it, I NEVER saw the doctor!!! Not for the entire hour and half I was in the office. Not once!!
