Whether the blame is understaffing, cutting corners, or people using ers as primary care, the bottom line is unless you arrive by ambulance you are much better off seeking care elsewhere.
My wife... more and I waited over 3 hours while she is sobbing, throwing up, and having tremors. When I ask how much longer before we even get back to a room I am told we are next, they are waiting on a stretcher from upstairs, someone is discharging soon, etc. Told every excuse for 3 hours.
Hospitals, especially ers have become a waste of time.
Only given 4 stars and thats for the birth center. They was wonderful. The only thing is they wasn't 100% effective on my after treatment. Meaning the stuff i should have (cooling spray ,witch haze, ect)... more i had to ask for. And 1 nurse was kinda rude to my guests. They where not being loud or nun, but she seem to have an attitude cause they where there. 1 nurse also was trying to release me only after a few hrs of birth so communication isnt 100% more like 80. I however had a nurse help me up to the bathroom to wash me up. She was wonderful i wish i could remember her name... She was very caring...as most of the nurses i had during my stay was.. So all in all it was a beautiful experience with minor issues
This was not an ER visit. This was a planned hip replacement surgery for my mother. The night nursing staff was very low under par! One night, they failed to bring my mother dinner and every singe... more meal delivered to her room was cold. Another night, she had to wait 45 minutes for pain medication and was in a LOT of pain before it was administered. Also, she had to wait at least 45 minutes for a nurse when she needed to relieve herself and couldn't hold it and had accidents. She did not want me staying with her at the hospital overnight, and now I wish I had. The day staff was wonderful although, her physical therapist did not leave orders that she could use her walker assisted to use the restrooms, so she was at the mercy of the nurses, so that seemed to be a lack of communication as well. I have never been disappointed with Newton, but I have not had to deal with them as Piedmont affiliated until this week. Super bad night care and I was extremely disappointed!
