This is a bad place for a self-respecting people of color.
After a brief meeting with a doctor I was given a list of very dramatic and stigmatized diagnoses, all with negative/permanent prognoses,... more which nobody who has actually some tests seem to agree with. The treatments that have worked for me (not at North Memorial) indicate the guy at NM was way, way off.
Another doctor asked me extremely personal questions that felt invasive and were embarrassing to answer; he then straight up laughed at one my responses, as though I was joking. I wasn't. Incredibly insensitive. Are they *trying* to be awful?
When they referred me elsewhere they referred me to a place that is too far away for me to get to and on top of that wouldn't take me as a patient. Thanks for nothing.
The new marketing push is a farce. They don't care about any of you. No matter how horrible your experience is, they won't give a hoot unless they're worried they'll be sued. Money is the only thing that matters. Complaining to a patient representative does nothing; they just say "uh huh" over and over while you talk. The letter I got back was perfunctory and said nothing that reassured me the same things wouldn't happen to patients in the future. It didn't even mention some of the more ridiculous things I'd shared with them. But hey, if I can't sue, who cares, right?
Minimal empathy. Inconsistent competence. Rotten people. Go here if you'd like to acquaint yourself with the sad state of health care in America.
DO NOT COME TO THIS HOSPITAL BAD CARE AND THEY JUST TRY TO MAKE MONEY OFF OF YOU. I WENT THERE FOR THE FLU AND THEY GAVE ME AN UNNECESSARY CT SCAN AND CONTRAST WHICH EXPOSED ME TO RADIATION I DID NOT NEED.... more THEY DON'T SEND IN DOCTORS, JUST NURSES. WILL NEVER GO BACK. WOULD GIVE THEM ZERO STARS AND THE MEDS THEY GAVE ME WERE MAKING ME WORSE, I STOPPED TAKING THEM AND SIMPLY GOT REST AND KEPT MYSELF HYDRATED AND GOT BETTER THAT WAY.
