Nurses are friendly, second hand books available to buy from hospital shop when you are bored. Walk in blood tests facilities (usually approx. 1 hour wait - no matter what time you get here) available... more but outpatient dermatology clinic is moving out to Beckenham Beacon. Hospital building looks a bit run down but floors can be better cleaned.
I recently had a knee replacement at Orpington and was so very impressed with the level of care. I was admitted to Boddington ward and from the moment I entered to the time I left the treatment/care/pain... more relief given was second to none. Not only were the staff professional they cared. Nothing too much. All credit to the Team, Aggie, Bridget, Lana and of course Vincent to name but a few. I Thank you ALL, each and every one. We are all aware you're underpaid and overworked you deserve so much more.
My one and only COMPLAINT is the food! It was awful. The fish and chips were appalling. Fish was grey and mulched, chips like mini logs of wood. Roast potatoes so bad. Best option was sandwich and cheese and biscuits.
I am due to have the other knee done some time in 2018 and although not looking forward to the Op am very happy that it will performed at Orpington. (Will get family/friends to bring in a sandwich.)
