I love the emergency department at pch the nurses and doctors are wonderfull this is the only place i take my kids when they are sick they are very caring the pulmonary department is also great my son... more has been a patient for going on 2 years i would defintley recommend pch
Took hours upon hours to get a piece of paper to get my son discharged.(still waiting)
They kept shoving paperwork in my face where print was so small I could not read... more it.
I had to sign and verify is age numerous times.
He is 17, they had him listed as eight years old on his paperwork.
At one time they had him born in the 1900,s.
He's 6,2, I seriously doubt anyone can confuse or mistake him for 8 years old.
And not make the same stupid mistake several times.
In addition to that, it seems with all of the money that is donated to them, and all the money they beg for, shouldn't the staff be better trained at communicating with one another.
They kept changing staff members, (most likely to over charge in my opinion), and each member asked the same ridiculous questions that the last one did.
One would think, you simply just read that basic information in the computer/patient chart.
So, we still sit here and I keep asking them to remove the needle so we can be on our way, since the doctor is discharging him.
She tells me, it's more complicated than that.
I disagree and tell her we feel like we are being held hostage so they can keep billing, so remove the needle.
Now she informs me she has to get a supervisor, NO, I want a nurse to remove the needle.
She walks out.
Two hours still no one to remove the needle.
So again I tell them I will call my insurance company to fight any charges for keeping us here unnecessarily.
I was told he had a laceration of his spleen, as he was in car accident. I never got to see the x-rays. I also asked them to give me copies of everything I signed, since I couldn't read it due to print being tiny,. Magically, they could only provide me a phone number to get these copies, as apparently they don't have them anymore. I find that very strange. Where did these papers disappear to I wondered. It's not even been a full 24. Hours ,
So, you can't find a nurse in a reasonable amount of time, but you somehow uploaded pertinent paperwork and have no copies of it in less than 24 hours. If something smells, check it out, which I will be doing with a fine tooth comb if we are ever released from this prison.
I will update this post as the day goes on as we are still being held here unnecessarily, and I will update post should I encounter any billing errors or erouneous charges that I have read about.
