I came in with an extreme swollen lip. I told them I have a lot of allergies. No airway problems or other rashes.
They gave me pretnisone, an epipen, antihistamines. I had side effects of the epi... more pen but the doctor thought I had a shock. I had to stay one night in the hospital. When I read the diagnose of the doctor the next day it looked like he had made it up, so it was necessary for me to stay one night. He had written that I had rashes all over, that I have a food allergy to egg etc, that I had a flustered face.....all not true. This was 20.000 baht.
After a second opinion( when it happened again) it was diagnosed with acute contact urtacaria.( Contact with chemical substance they use in Thailand often in food) some anti histamine and some rest is enough.
I don't know where to start; English clearly very poor( sorry in a hospital like this I expect some kind of English) rip off, not really listening, not helpful( I needed to get up, I was attached to a monitor, nobody reacted to my call, when I waved finally to a nurse she looked at me and said; "me??")
Oh and, shall we not talk about the guy who has to take new people in the hospital who laughed?and then a woman who came to me said:" hello?" And when I looked at her said: "oh"
Excellent private hospital and staff. Price on the high side but for good quality of service.
My wife contracted acute gastroenteritis and also developed a bad migraine. We called the ambulance... more at 11pm on a Thursday night and it was quick to get to us in Patong at a difficult to find condo.
My wife was seen in emergency very quickly by the duty doctor who gave medication that started to help within 15 minutes. She then had to stay overnight. We chose a VIP room which was double the price of a usual 3 bed ward because of the nature of the illness and we had good insurance. The room was spacious, clean and well located with sofas, table, private toilet and even ample kitchen space. There was a grocery store just down the corridor.
Staff and doctors were all friendly, attentive and helpful. Most spoke reasonable English or enough to communicate what was needed. Nice healthy food and tea was provided and my wife was monitored closely. We stayed until 4.30 pm the next day because of extended monitoring.
After all the meds and accommodation total price was near THB 30,000. This seemed high but as I couldn't fault the service and good results I had no real objection. Plus choosing a less good room would have taken 3500 off the bill at least.
This was the only time I've been to hospital in Phuket but this hospital I'd recommend from this one experience.
