Had an appendectomy on Thursday at Piedmont Henry. What a wonderful hospital. All the staff were so nice, helpful,-accommodating, professional, and had such great side bed manners. Everyone from radiology... more Tony and Jennifer. To my awesome ER nurse Gerald. Incredible surgeon Dr Erdelyn. All the nursing staff Cynthia, Sarah, Delores, Donna. They were all truly awesome. Thanks for taking such great care of us. We appreciate it!!
My experience mirrors most of the other comments here. The doctors and nurses seem competent and genuinely interested in the welfare of the patients however everything they do takes absolutely forever... more to happen. Every little thing they do takes at least an hour before they do it and then at least an hour before they do the next thing. It took 10 hours to make it through the ER.
Now this also doesn't take into account that the diagnosis and initial treatment only took about 2 hours, during which it was expressed multiple times that discharge was imminent, but when it was learned that full personal insurance would be use, all of a sudden many more tests were needed "just in case"..
I have been at this hospital since 9pm am and now it's 12am mind you my son split is head open and clearly needs stitches but yet I'm still sitting in the waiting room. This one of the worst hospital and... more they need to get rid of all these people and bring in new staff because my daughter went to desk to ask how much longer and the guy stated that this is not McDonald's and she would have to wait her turn.
Rate of readmission after discharge from hospital (hospital-wide)
Rate - 15.4% (0.6% below the national rate)
