My wife had a nasty accident with a knife whilst preparing food and had a bad cut on her hand.
Her reception and treatment at A & E could not have been better. The nurse who treated her was most... more efficient and made us laugh despite the pain my wife was in. The A & E was packed with people, many of whom were complaining loudly and even in one case leaving because they had not been seen as quickly as they would have liked - clearly neither an accident nor an emergency! How the A & E staff cope with the constant flow of idiots and time wasters I do not know , and whatever they are getting paid it isn't enough. Many thanks to you all.
I live in London and my local hospital is kings A&E, considering it is one of uks leading hospitals it hasn't a patch on the care and service I have received at QEQM In Margate (a supposedly failing hospital).... more The children's A&E is especially a top notch service, the staff are amazing, the service is amazing and the kids all absolutly love it so much that they keep threatening to cause themself Injuries just to go back in. (Wrong I know but kind of funny as no kids ever want to be ill and in hospital). They have an absolutly amazing play worker specialist Jayne whom was amazing with all the children, they had a an old television with an old school vcr which I loved and got to watch sister act on with my daughter, a PlayStation, a flatscreen television with an untold amount of dvds for the children to watch, a dressing up area, loads of toys, a colouring table and whilst my daughter lay in bed with suspected appendicitis they brought her over an iPad to play games on and some tree decorations to paint. My grandmother was also brought in a few months ago and was admitted for 2-3 weeks. Prior to that she was in quite a few hospitals in London that didn't have half as much care and attention as she had at QEQM. Please please please do not get rid of the play area for the children in A&E as no matter how I'll all the children were it brightened up their days. Thank you for all the care and love that was given by all staff wether it be the paramedics, the nurses, doctors or surgeons and Jayne. Also when the nurse had finished her shift at night after a long day she had noticed that I was still waiting for a cab 40 mins after my daughter being discharged and knowing from the records that we were staying at my parents only a few roads away from where she lived went totally out of her way and far beyond her job description and insisted on giving us a lift home. Thank you to all I will never forget the treatment we received. And thank you to the nurse for getting us home safely you are truly an angel ❤❤
Slow, and rude. nurse with attitude and very, very dirty. Cotton wool with blood on the floor, empty drinks cups, plastic wrappers and tissues in A and E cubicle. My Mum at 87 was left without seeing a... more Dr for nearly 7 hours. Took no notice of me saying she's slurring and can't move. She had massive stroke next day. However Paramedics were great as was Dr Baht. . A formal complaint is on the way 're A and E treatment and staff.
