This is my experience with the ICU rooms on the 4th floor. Horrible, horrible hospital. I was told I was going to be moved to a regular room 3 days in a row. 3!!! And then I was FINALLY moved the same... more day I was released. Also, compassion is RARE among the nurses. Surprisingly MOST of them are rude. I had a nurse literally put her hand on my knee and - condescendingly - talk to me like I was a baby. This does NOT help while dealing with a head injury, I can tell you that right now. I will NEVER go to this hospital again. I'd much rather stay lying in the middle of the street bleeding out next time. Anybody that has EVER had a good experience here is extremely lucky. Those good experiences are very rare.
As someone with pretty severe and ongoing medical issues, I am always very selective and picky in choosing a hospital, and rarely ever go somewhere outside my University Specialists in Arizona. My husband... more and I happen to be in California for his job at the moment, so my when oncologist and neurologist told me to go to the closest ER after a fall and head injury, I looked up every hospital within an hour of us. I was apprehensive because new hospitals tens to do one of two things with me 1. Look at my medical history and send me somewhere else OR 2. Run an obscene amount of tests because "cases like you are so rare." This hospital was absolutely not the case. I was checked in and called back within 5 mins, and explained what had happened, my history, what my specialists back home were hoping to have done, etc. Both nurses were insanely helpful and knowledgeable. They did not give me the run around at all, and were more than willing to coordinate with my specialists out of area. We all joked around, making a dim situation lighter, and they treated me as a human with a medical situation, opposed to a medical disease attached to a human. They included my husband's and I' s opinions and thoughts when scheduling tests and evaluations. Every single person impressed us, which was a breath of fresh air. What has taken some hospitals a day and a half to do, this one had me all checked out and treated in only a matter of hours. We are very much so impressed with our experience, and if either of us need medical care again before returning home this will be the hospital we chose. Thank you, so much, for not only providing me with quality care, but for also treating us with the respect and kindness everyone deserves. Keep up the good work!
Horrible! No hospitality in this hospital whatsoever! Family member was emitted into ER at this place after being in a motorcycle accident. After calling multiple times and get no answer on my family members... more status I finally arrived to the hospital (that is under construction, leaving no parking and very confusing signage) I was stopped at the ER entrance by security who was very rude and short temperd. He then instructed me to go sit and wait in the lobby until someone called me. As I waited in line to speak with the nurse at the admissions desk the same security guard approached me in a very unprofessional manner and said "why are you standing here I told you to wait over there". This security continued to be rude and disrespectful as I asked to speak to a medical professional about my family members status. The guard finally went and got a nurse who was able to answer my questions.
This was the worst experience I have ever had coming into a hospital.
People are coming into this facility in distress and in need of help and the 1st thing you have to deal with is rude security guards!
Please train your guards on the meaning of the HOSPITALITY!!
Rate of readmission after discharge from hospital (hospital-wide)
