I was on a FMLA because my husband was Diagnosed with colon rectum and anus cancer and I needed to be with him for his
cancer treatments.Radiation and chemo 5 days a week.we had to drive to S.Petersburg... more bay pines VA hospital from Bradenton.SMH HR approved my FMLA time off but they said that I wasn't able to get pay from my bank B sick time, which I have 223 hours accumulated and They're excuse was that only apply for me only if I get sick and hospitalized for over 40 hours that if I didint have any vacation time on bank A which I didn't have any time in my bank A because they use that for evetything.I have to send a check to them every two weeks to cover my part for my medical insurance and if they didn't receive my payments my benefits will be suspended. So I worked very hard at SMHCS for almost 5 years.I earned those 223 hours and they said that even if I resign I will never get paid for that sick time.So this is pretty much there rule that you used or loose it.That's what happens to me.I was never sick for over 40 hours.SMH sick time policy sucks!!!!!. And this is the worse part I tooked my husband to SMH ER first because he was having diarrhea and bloody stool for two weeks. They did a CT ,Blood test and urine and 8 hours after they told him Mr.lebel you can go home they're is nothing wrong with You.Three days after He went to The Bay Pines VA ER hospital and did the same test that SMH did And they saw a big mass on my husband colon right away. The VA can't believe that Sarasota memorial hospital that 5 start hospital didn't catch this. MY HUSBAND insurance did get a bill from SMH for almost $11,000 dollars for a misdiagnosed .
The absolute worst people I have met anywhere work here (theres a couple good souls). They are the lowest of the low. Terrible doctors, terrible nurses, terrible techs, terrible everything. You are not... more allowed to be in pain if it's not incredibly obvious to them, you must be lying in their minds. I'm sure you get plenty of bullshit in the ER from seekers. I have been in the worst pain of my life for weeks on end and go here to try to figure out whats going on and am I going to die? Do I need to make those kind of arrangements already? These people wouldn't know empathy if it bit them in the ass. You all must think pretty highly of yourselves to have such massive egos, and yet you have no listening skills whatsoever. You should be ashamed of the way you treat patients. One day... everyone will be in my shoes, experiencing what it's like to have every part of your body hurt and malfunction one by one. When that day comes for you, I hope you receive the same lack of care you all gave me. You are horrible human beings that deserve no peace in your life... I hope you never have a goodnights rest again, then you might understand what it's like to walk in my shoes. You couldn't handle it. Rot in hell. You deserve no less.
My father, who unfortunately passed recently, could not have had a more caring and dependable crew looking after him..I thank all nurses and doctors for their services..A special thank you to Brenda Edusei... more for being so patient and so thorough in answering all questions my family had regarding our Dad..Outstanding service.
