Took my husband in last night about 8:30 intake was quick, but after that it was awful was shut in a room and left there for three hours with no treatment while all the staff was doing nothing but laughing... more at the desk.Everytime my husband asked for help they would say their coming go back in your room. So he ended up checking himself out. With no help from them.
The Registration Experience is a total failure! Six registration stations totally busy with an incoming on-rush, took us 45 minutes to get through and then another 15 minutes to get a wheelchair. Needless... more to say, we were late for our appointment.
Then to top that off, upon arrival the following week for the same procedure, we were told that we had to register again. Same name, same birthday, same address, same phone number, same insurance coverage!
What a bottle neck in an otherwise fine hospital. Some higher management group had their stupid hats on when they dictated this process!
I'm in Hawaii and my niece went into the hospital unexpectedly. I checked out the website for Sarasota Memorial once I knew that was the hospital she was brought to. I wanted to send her a gift that was... more not flowers. On the website, there is a link to the gift shop along with some downloadable pictures of some of the stuffed animals they have available. It also says to give the gift shop a call and they will assist with purchasing a gift/delivery of said gift over the phone. Being that I'm halfway across the globe and in the middle of the ocean, this was a perfect solution for me. I called and was NOT disappointed! She was so patient and so helpful and made it easy for me to make the purchase sight unseen. I told her what my niece likes and BAM! She came through with a little stuffed white kitten, a pink unicorn that makes 'magic' noises, a coloring kit, and a get well balloon. Needless to say because of the 6 hour time difference, I called at 5:15pm and she was able to take my order, put it together, and deliver it TODAY!!! My niece couldn't be happier and I couldn't be happier with the service I received and the service she is receiving at Sarasota Memorial. These little things make a world of difference when you under so much stress already. Thank you so much!!
