Do Not have your baby at Scripps Encinitas Hospital! I’ve never wrote a bad review for somewhere but I had a horrible experience for here my 3rd child. I had my first 2 children at Mary Birch and Balboa... more Naval Hospital, both were easy natural deliveries and I was only in the hospital 1 day. My 3rd child should have also been very easy, there were no complications until I got to this hospital. They decided to induce me and many many mistakes were made, so I ended up having an emergency C section after a very long hard labor. I only saw my doctor once briefly the whole week I was here. A female on call doctor came in and saw me during labor and when I asked if I should get the epidural now, she laughed and said “ the painis going to get much worse”. There was a constant change in shift of nurses and doctors. So 3 months later I am still not fully recovered from this C Section. After the baby was born we couldn’t even get alone time with our baby or do skin to skin until almost 4 hours later because the nurses couldn’t figure out the new computer system. Throughout my labor we had multiple nurses in our room training each other on their new computer system, it was a mess. The nurses kept insisting we give our infant formula while I had an adequate milk supply...Then they insisted we needed to stay there an extra 2 nights to recover because I had such a hard labor before the c section. On the 4th day the nurse actually said, “I heard you guys were hoping to leave today”? This hospital wants you to stay as long as possible so that they can keep billing your insurance! Then the insurance coordinator comes in to go over our insurance and copays and we paid the amount she told us and signed everything, and she was completely wrong. Now I’m not getting nonstop bills from Scripps for over $4000.
Nurse stamped on a cold pac with her shoe on hosp. floor to activate Pac when I was in my hospital bed post cancer surgery . She placed this contaminated ice pac on my pillow behind my shoulder!

Every place has flaws, but healthcare is constant changing and Scripps has proved as a company they change and evolve with healthcare. Excited to work for such a vibrating company.
