I recently had outpatient surgery and I'm thankful nothing serious because the staff does not work as a team and I was lied to just to appease me. They gossiped and only cared about getting out of there... more early because it was Friday. I received no respect as a patient or the family member with me.
Customer service is poor at this hospital. I went to the Emergency Room for a bacterial infection, and I had to wait ten minutes to even be acknowledged, because the desk clerk was busy registering another... more patient, and the other staff in the back of the office were visibly chatting with each other and on their cell phones. Finally, they called me in, and the financial counselor was pissed when I told her I couldn't pay today, and roller her eyes, before sending me in to see the ER doctor and shouting to me "I NEED TO SEE YOU BEFORE YOU LEAVE."
After being treated by the doctor (he barely spoke English, but he seemed competent and friendly enough), the financial counselor asked me how much money I currently had, and I told her I had $10 in cash, so she said "ok, so you'll pay $10 today?" and I told her I couldn't pay today because I needed that $10 (my last $10 until I get paid next week) to buy the two antibiotics I was prescribed, and she sighed and rolled her eyes again before using high-pressure sales tactics to get me to consent to have the $250 co-pay taken out of my account when I get paid; I just hope I have enough, because I just started this job and I am not sure how much I will actually be paid. Customer service at this hospital is very poor, and I do not anticipate going back unless I have a bad emergency.
