Sharp Memorial Hospital is one of the best hospitals in San Diego County. The Rady Children's Hospital - world renowned for its cancer research - is located on the hospital grounds, as well as the Sharp... more Mary Birch Hospital for Women and Newborns; the Sharp Rehabilitation Center and the Mesa Vista Drug Treatment and Behavioural Center, are all subdivisions of this marvelous clinical complex.
They are located at the prominence of the Kearny Mesa Area and can easily accessed off of either the north or southbound I 163 exits to Genesee east, or else by using the Mesa College Drive east exit ; or the southbound I 805 west exit all leading Health Center Drive and then to Frost Street.
Sharps also has two on site public pharmacies that are open from daily from to 9am to 6pm - they are closed on weekends and holidays.
I have been to Sharp Memorial a few times over the last two years: I found them to be an excellent organization that cared for me; I felt very comfortable and that they cared for me better than my own siblings have done (After one of my surgeries, I didn't even receive one visitor; I guess that maybe I've never really had any friends?).
During the time I was an inpatient I was brought hot and beverages; the food was very good and they even had a menu. I was even offered warm blankets, when I said that I was cold ( The reason that most hospitals are kept /"cold" is to prevent the spread of germs.).The phlebotomist who drew my blood awesome, as I didn't feel a thing
I was also given a complimentary transit pass, as well as a complementary cab fare - on several occasions - when I had no one to help me get back home; the cab fare was a great help as it was very early in the morning (It was cold and rainy and I would have been left all alone; incidents that took place between Feb. and March of 2017.).
All in all the hospital was extremely clean, the staff seemed to go out of their way to make a personal connection with me - as a patient - and I thought that their 'caring attitudes' were wonderful attributes to their credo that they have attached to themselves as front-line caregivers and leaders within the San Diego community.
I would like to thank all of those who have treated me for the wonderful jobs that they have done, even though we have had a few disagreements, this is only a small part of my whole life's story.
Since this is a review and whenever I write an evaluation I try to focus on the positive aspects of my experience(s) - I don't review any place that I frequent more than twice that gets below two ☆'s,however anything can change.Three M.D.'s that I saw years before I started using Sharp Memorial will soon get their chance; anyone is free to dispute a negative review..
I came in from Sharp Chula Vista, due to them not having a GI doctor. I ended up having my gallbladder removed. The staff that took care was pretty amazing. They really cared and took great care of me.... more
Very Very horrible experience to this Sharp Hospital. At the night time, maybe they don't have enough doctors to take care for the patients. If you have extreme pain, you will wait to die in this hospital... more at the night time. My mom had an extreme abdomen pain, we came at 11:30pm at night time. When we entered to the front desk, they already said we have to wait 3 or 4 hours to see the doctor. I was very surprised because the patient has an extreme abdomen pain but they don't care what going on to the patient. I have no choice to go another hospital because it was almost midnight. We have been waiting 3 hours already, but we are still waiting outside the lobby with the pain and no ones care for my mom . They gave my mom the pain medication but it didn't work at all. I hope they can have more the doctors work at the night time schedule , so it can helps solving the problem.
