This is the worst hospital!
I was taken here by ambulance after a fall, while having back spasms and numbness in my legs.
After being left for hours shivering in wet clothes and socks, I... more was given a CT scan.
I was told nothing was broken and was "fine". The doctor - DR. GREGORY P BOWERMAN- was incredibly lacking in any kind of bedside manner, or listening skills. He essentially told me to just get up and go home, despite the fact I could not move my legs. I politely expressed that I didn't think he was listening and asked for another Doctor. He told me he was the only Doctor present, despite the fact that this was contradicted by the nurse. I asked for a nurse.
I worked with two nurses. The first I believe was named Debbie, who was semi-professional, until she moved two feet away, staying I was “fine” to whoever was listening, while rolling her eyes.
Dan was the second nurse. He was insistent I get up to leave.
I asked for a walker as I couldn't get myself to the car. I had to insist on some sort of medication for the pain.
I was given a 10 day Rxn and told I could not borrow a walker unless I had a stroke.
He quite aggressively put me into wheelchair. As he rolled me outside I explained I could not even feel wheelchair against my legs and something wasn't right.
He told me that I needed to "walk it off" and to "stretch" and that I would be "fine".
After going home I found that I was unable to move my arms without having spasms, so I went to a different ER.
A full MRI showed I had suffered spinal cord damage and needed immediate surgery.
If I had "got up" and "stretched" per the recommendation of Sonora Regional, I have no idea what kind of further damage I would have done.
Three weeks after surgery, I am still unable to feel one full leg, and have "foot drop" - due to extensive nerve damage I suffered during that fall.
I wonder how many other patients come through here, and suffer due to the lack of care provided by these « professionals ».
This hospital is disgustingly unprofessional and the competence here is questionable.
I would avoid this place at all costs, for one's own safety.
WARNING ! Simply said, this is the most despicable death house in California. Hospital leaders have zero interest in health or organization, just money. The left hand has no clue what the right hand is... more doing. Their incompetent doctors must of barley made it out of medical school at the bottom of the class. X-ray scheduling phone recordings saying they will be with you in a few minutes but be prepared to listen to their lying recording over and over for 45 minutes. They need to be kicked out of the county and their building confiscated.
I truly believe this hospital killed my dad!!! He had a nasty fall, and they monitored him for 3 hours and said he was good to go. He wanted to be admitted but they wouldn’t admit him (I didn’t know... more hospitals could do that ) sent him home. He had a heartattake that night and died. He was 44 years old. Guess what insurance he has medical.... yup . This hospital is suppose to be about saving lives and love and dignity and respect, I haven’t seen that at all!!!
