Had procedure scheduled for Ambulatory Endo. Called prior to procedure date to confirm demographics, insurance, etc. On day of procedure, Patient Registration reviewed information. Registrar very professional... more & friendly. Taken to room, all personnel on floor very friendly. R.N.'s efficient, professorial and friendly. Made sure I was comfortable and asked if I had any questions.
Was taken into Endo suite, R.N. assisting introduced herself, asked if I had any questions (none); Dr. Levitsky (anesthesia) explained his role and the medication he would administer (I.V. push). Dr. Georgopoulos came in & checked that I was the right patient, for the right procedure (which I was). Then I was put to sleep.
Woke up, wheeled across the hall to my room, given coffee (yeah!) Dr. G came in to discuss what he found and answered any questions I had.
This hospital is still the caring "neighborhood" hospital it was years ago, but has kept up with the times and technology of medicine.
I would not hesitate to use Southampton again.
This hospital is the worse one around... doctors don't care about whether you're in pain and don't answer to no! Truly shocking that a patient is treated like that. I do give one star for the nurses and... more my x ray tech who were all very nice
Rate of readmission after discharge from hospital (hospital-wide)
