I recently had a diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound at Southern Regional Medical Center. My experience was very positive. Everyone I interacted with was kind and courteous. Everything was explained... more to me before any procedures were performed. I was kept up to date about "behind the scenes" conversations and processes.
I was also referred for a breast biopsy. I went to the women's imaging center at Spivey Station for this. This facility is also part of Southern Regional Medical Center. Luckily, I ended up not needing the biopsy after further ultrasound viewing. Everyone I interacted with was nice, helpful, and patient with me.
I know there are some negative experiences posted about Southern Regional Medical Center, but my experience was nothing but positive.
If I could've given them less than one star I would have. My 12 yr old son needed to have some ultrasounds on his kidneys and was scheduled at this facility. The day before the procedure (which had been... more scheduled for well over a week) we received a call stating we would need to bring our full $1500.00 deductible to cover any patient responsibility but refused to give me the price of the tests. We were told if we overpaid at time of service they would refund us in 6-8 weeks. I contacted our insurance carrier and was informed the most these tests should ever cost is $350.00. We will never use a facility that cannot provide at least an estimate for a test that has a set price. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else!!
