I had the worst delivery experience at this hospital on Sept. 1, 2015. It began with being stuck at least 10 times for an IV only to then have it almost pulled out while they were wheeling me into the... more room. Once delivering the Doctor and nurse were arguing over who administered medication while I lay on the table in a very vulnerable position and in extreme amounts of pain from the delivery. I understand why the nurse didn’t want to administer the medication the Doctor asked for but found the arguing inappropriate. I also felt it could have been easily resolved by moving on to something they could administer.
I had third degree tearing and only received a local anesthetic that did not even completely numb the area. So after a traumatic and unplanned natural delivery I could feel myself being stitched. Then afterwards I was sent to a room where I laid shaking from the pain for several hours. The nurses were very unfriendly and my pain was unaddressed for several more hours. The nurse literally told me that they have mothers who deliver all the time that don’t need pain medication as if that was relevant to my birthing experience or that my genuine pain didn’t matter. I still deal with complications to this day. I was so uncomfortable and traumatized that I left after a day of giving birth. Unfortunately I had complications related to the delivery that sent me back to the hospital several more times. I was so exhausted from the entire experience that I never shared how horrified I am of this place or my experience until now. I would never give birth at this hospital again!!
