I came to St. John for all my medical needs, I've even had my five children there. On 6/29/18, that changed. My husband's blood pressure was high at home and he was complaining of tightness in his chest.... more I rushed him to the emergency room at St. John. They took him to their triage area and performed an EKG then proceeded to leave my husband unattended in the area he got the EKG. They didn't assess his vital signs for at least ten minutes! His blood pressure was 210/150 and he was still complaining of chest tightness and guess what?! They put him in the lobby to wait because their ER was full! I left St. John and went to Beaumont on Cadieux who discovered within 30 minutes of being there that he was having a heart attack. I understand things like an ER being full are out of anyone's control but they need to have a plan for patients who are in life threatening situations like my husband's. If I waited, God knows what would have happened to him. St. John has officially lost my business.
I love this hospital. They always provide me and my family with excellent medical care. My grandniece just delivered her daughter in the birthing center. Although they are going through renovations there,... more I enjoyed my experience there. The staff was nice, warm, attentive, and very professional. Thank you St. John staff and keep up the good work.
