Went in to check out a cough. The doctor ordered $600 of tests. Went in to get tested with some blood work. Doctor ordered $1000 of tests. This hospital is notorious at ordering expensive tests and the... more billing lady was horrible. She pretty much told me "your poor so you can't get treated". No financial aid or help for those without money. AVOID THIS HOSPITAL IF YOU CAN!
Update- went in for yearly check up covered by insurance- they billed them over $200.
Also they ILLEGALLY put me on Medicaid (without my knowledge or consent) to get paid. This cause me a whole litany of legal issues.
This is my first positive medical/emergency experience in many years. For decades, after every hospital visit, I have been left with the feeling of being chewed up and spit out by the system. This time... more was different. The individual attention from the doctors and nurses was unexpected and appreciated. I will not hesitate to take myself, or loved ones to St. Vincent's ER......
