My mother, Brenda Bryant, UCDavis Professor of human development for 40 years was admitted to this hospital and after two days of being monitored for a perforated colon, she choked on her own vomit and... more died inbetween a sugeon visit and a physician visit. I checked her in, nobody ever did a test when she was checked in to see if she knew how to use the call button. I am requesting records if the call button was ever used but my mother died of "natural causes" when other surgeons I spoke with not in California are confused why she did not have a NG tube. Nurse staff has a lackadisicle attitude, like they live for the club... I helped with ng tube admistering after my mothers strokes in a Los Angeles hospital and I know it's not easy to do with her but in LA I was told the ng tube would keep her from dying... Surgeon never spoke to me after Brenda's death, guess he is scared of Mal Practice he comitted? Or is there an issue with making sure patients know how to call for help, I had to help my mother use remotes and practice using them with her even when she was not a stroke victim. I will 100% be done with Davis in before I'm too old. Marijuana party culture/big business screwing small towns has ruined this town. (Update: I received a letter about an internal review of my mother's (poor) care that led to her dying needlessly early, and they have the wrong dates or they are ignoring the first day she was checked into Sutter Hospital. 6 people have died of Diverticulitus in Davis in 3 years. This is common and treatable, however if doctors don't think to look for it, you can die way earlier than neccessary in this city. This was a retired professor from UCD who taught here for 40 years)
This was not my planned hospital to go to but I went to labor and was 2 min apart and this was the closest hospital to me. They took me in right of way got me in to the room and with in less then 40 min... more my daughter was born on 4th of July ! I was doing a natural birth and the nurse supported me , I told them I don't want a laying down position they had no problems and said it's what ever I preferred. They recommend couple good positions and I have to admit this was my first baby not laying down position. I was on my knees on the bed leaning over the back seat of the bed and the birth experience was amazing. The gravity sure works with u and it was much easier to push her out. Plus my hips and pelvic was more open then in the laying down position so it didn't create a stressful way for the baby to come out. And I was in so much less pain after birth then I was with my other 3 kids. The dr. Did not clamp the cord right of was like all the rest of the hospitals do and waited until all the vitamins pump back in to the baby. Glad I didn't have to fight with the Dr about this 1. And after they took a really good care of me. They gave me the baby and let me hold her for as long as I waneed before they took her to measure her. This hospital is definitely for someone who is looking for as natural as possible and as the right way of the way birth suppose to be. After I was in the other room the nurses and staff was always helpful. Nurse Mayta and Julie and the rest I didn't get the names off where very friendly, caring and helpful. They did not come in every 2 hours for stuff and just kind of left me aline with my baby especially @ night so I was able to actually sleep and not get disturbed every hour. If I ever needed anything I just push the botton and I got what I want and I wanted a lot of tea lol. Food was delicious too, I was surprised plus I asked for snacks all the time cuz I started to breastfeed ( I get really hungry ). All I can say is thank u very much Sutter hospital and all ur staff. I am more then pleased with the 1st time experience that I had with u guys. I definitely had an amazing 4th delivery experience with u guys!
