We were passing through this town while traveling. There was an ambulance in a drive thru restaurant. The drivers called us derogatory names. What a way to represent not only your hospital, but your town... more too.
After reading all the reviews I am appalled to hear such negativity regarding staff and doctors. Why would all these people say such terrible things if they were not so ?
I have been to TCMH many... more times for treatment from a cut knee that required stitches to gallbladder surgery.
Personally I have been treated very well by the surgical nurses and the doctors, however, I can't say the same for most of the E.R. nurses and registration clerks, although I understand they have changed things in registration. As for some of the ER nurses, they need to work on their people skills, and I believe this is the job of the hospital administrator to demand his nurses treat everyone with the utmost respect.
Most people go to the emergency room for an injury or something that can't wait for a regular doctor visit, and they are afraid and need reassurance from a kind hospital employee, not a cold and callous reception from some employee that don't care.
Overall I find TCMH an average hospital in a rural area doing the best they can to provide quality medical care with the resources they have, however, a smile and a friendly manner is essential, and it pays in ways that are much more valuable than money.
