Long story. In July 2016 I went to A&E after hurting myself on holiday with a leg injury, which was nothing and pains in my body, chest ect. They listened to my breating and told me I was fine. I did not... more feel fine and asked for a scan as my chest area was hurting. Reluctantly they said, OK but would have to wait 40 minutes. So I did. Had a scan and then told that I was OK. So I went home. 3 months later I fell down the stairs, nothing to do with this as far as I know, and nearly died. Broken back, neck, brain hemmerage 3 brain seizures and a cracked skull. Intensive care in Oxford as Swindon couldn't deal with it. I was in a coma for quite a bit but had to stay in intensive care for 9 days extra as I would not come round because of a collapsed lung from June or July, 2 or 3 months earlier.
The specialist said that I had been informed wrongly and SHOULD HAVE BEEN PICKED UP.
JRH. THE BEST. After this I spent alot of time in the trauma unit/ward. The nurses and staff were great but I cannot forget that I spent 9 days of my life in intensive care because of an undiagnosed situation that happened because of A&E at the GWH. i have been told that I could get compensation but they can shove it. Just happy to be alive. TRAINING NEEDED. PROPER TRAINING.
