Attended A& E department at James Cook Hospital, on 1st November with my wife who is suffering with a very painful twisted knee. We were treated with very friendly and professional service throughout... more our visit. The receptionist was friendly and efficient, taking all the relevant information . The waiting room was quite busy with a steady stream of patients but we were seen by a sympathetic doctor pretty quickly. In the X ray department, again we were treated with respectful good humour and were passed back to the doctor without any delay. The doctor diagnosed a problem with the cartilage in the knee and a very friendly nurse applied a splint to the leg/ knee. The whole visit from start to finish took less than two hours. Full marks to all the staff! !!
Staff are amazing, facilities are good however having rushed to hospital a few times with my son worrying about parking fees shouldn't be an issue, you can buy a weekly ticket for a fraction of the cost... more but this is not displayed anywhere one of the staff had to tell us about it the day we where leaving, parents staying in the children's ward shouldn't have to pay for parking! It's not like they are visiting they are stuck there for days / weeks in some cases
I was admitted overnight a few months back and cannot praise staff enough, caring and professional and efficient. Now my elderly uncle is on ward 10 and the staff are kind, caring and have patience (pardon... more the pun) coupled with good humour, wonderful people !
