I had to visit the ER today and I had the very best care. I had some serious symptoms and I was treated with urgency and special care at check-in. My nurse, Cynthia, was awesome. She was very professional,... more personable and polite. Dr. Miller and Dr. Brooks were very informative and I felt I was in very good hands. The aides and techs were also super. I am very glad that I chose The Medical Center.
My elderly dad was taken by ambulance today. I'm so disgusted with the Dr in the er. We think he might of had a stroke. Tryed to talk to Dr he blew us off. The did a ctscan on head and chest said normal... more all within 15 minutes. Blood work they said was good. He went in with headache, weakness all on right side. Dr never came in and talk to me who has power of attorney. His nurse was the best nurse ever. Because test where normal they sent him home even though his blood pressure was very high. He couldn't walk, he could hold himself up. They put in the car and tried to get him to help himself to get in which he couldn't. I had to tell them he couldn't do it. So they put him in but not in a good position just made sure he had seatbelt on. No recommendations to see Dr no instructions for blood pressure. I did not sign or read or be told if discharge orders. This is unacceptable. This is a disgrace, if you want quality care don't go here ever. I plan on making making an official complaint to administration. I don't blame nurse I blame the doctor who didn't give a damn. DON'T GO TO THIS ER!!!!!
The ER department should be investigated. I was admitted to this hospital last week for heart issues. I was treated horribly. Was placed in the hallway for 6 hours next to the nurses station. I have... more never seen such rude people in my life. The head nurse Angie complained about a patient in room 16 and used profound language when sharing her feelings about this homeless individual. Private information about patients and gossip was shared aloud. Another individual Dewayne proceeded to berate me in front of his staff and with the support of the head nurse this type of attitude was allowed. I was told that there was more important people that needed attended to. Mind you I was admitted for heart issues, brought into the hospital via ambulance. This was over the Memorial Day weekend and I am an ex veteran. I plan on contacting the Medical Board to further pursue action against this staff and how I was treated. Sadly I have spoke with numerous people about my issues and many have shared the same experience that I had. I will never recommend or return to this establishment. The bathroom was very disgusting, there were dryed urine stains around the toilet seat in the bathroom I had to use. My children and wife had to stand in the ER hallway with me with there being a known hepatitis outbreak. The ER doctor had more important things to tend to in having me wait 3 plus hours to be seen. Then he left before discharging me. I will say there was a young medical student who checked on me who was very polite. I can see by the reviews this hospital continues to receive, that this has been an issue and will continue to be an issue until management does something about it. People do their part to leave reviews/feedback and the problem still exists. Management needs to do something before people get seriously hurt or die to the negligence of the staff. Compassion goes a long way folks.
