Honestly UMMC doesn't even deserve one star. I am so beyond mad right now. My Fiance has had a couple back surgeries in the past, well tonight (10/13/18) he goes in for back pain. He cannot even walk... more upright, I had to dress him before we went into the hospital which is challenging for me (being 7 months pregnant). When we get there we got right in, but when the doctor came into the room he listened to what we had to say and all he did was say it was to late for an MRI and an X-Ray would be useless. We were in the hospital room for maybe a half hour and all they did for him was proscribe him a muscle relaxer and Motrin 600.. That isn't going to solve his back issue. We went to EMERGENCY ROOM for a reason and they just sent him home in just as much pain as he walk in with.. What is the point of this hospital if they aren't going to actual treat/ fix their patients.. Now tomorrow when its not late we have to drive to Rochester for him to get looked at. Something needs to be done, this is not the first time we have had an issue here....
On August 31st I had a shoulder arthroscopic surgery and I would like to say that my second shift Aid Deb was absolutely amazing. My third shift nurse Joyce went above and beyond the Call of Duty to make... more a difficult time and painful time fantastic. 9/26 I returned for an arthroscopic surgery on my knee and Terra a RN and Emily gave the absolute best patient care anyone could ask for if you or a family member had to have a nursing and Aid these young ladies are the ones that you would want caring for your family. All of these women deserve big fat raises and should be recognized for their extraordinary patient care. There are not enough words for me to describe how wonderful Terra and Emily were here are a few always smiling, compassionate, considerate, attentive, and you can tell that they just have giant hearts and love what they do in caring for people in need. I can't speak highly enough for the pre-op nursing staff anesthesia and Genesee Orthopedics they are truly top notch first class amazing. I would and have recommended United Memorial Medical Center and Genesee Orthopedics to anyone and everyone I know for in my opinion the best care in Western New York
I will never return. Nurse was friendly but the Doctor didn't even seem to care what was really wrong with me, I even started having rectal bleeding while I was there and was told just to take some Tylenol.... more I left in worse condition than when I arrived. I would rather die while being rushed to any of the Rochester hospitals 45 minutes away than ever return here.
