I took my sick 5 year old daughter there today and the nurse practitioner by the name of PAM pretty much wrote my baby off as not being sick enough to be at the hospital. The restrooms were so disgusting... more with urine on the floors, and the service was extremely poor. Pam told me she's seen 2 doctor's already so what do you want me to do...excuse me stupid, yes she has and she's still sick. So basically after this horrible experience I politely grabbed my children and left this facility. I've Never been treated so badly by a medical profession, and must say it feels hurtful to cut ties with a company I once held so much confidence in. Thanks Pam for showing me UTMB'S true colors!
I WAS a huge UTMB supporter but after the service I received today I will never take myself or my children to UTMB hospital again! Not that it matters but we do have a great private insurance and we were still treated like animals.
For such a great facility, I am disappointed that they charge for handicapped parking close to hospital. In a place where visitors are there to cheer up patients, completely understand charging for those... more without disabilities. I called to voice my concern, and was left a message by a Mr Ford that free parking was available on seawall. For my family who are handicapped and on fixed income, paying up to $12 per day or more seems excessive to visit a loved one after a major surgery.
I came in at midnight on Monday the 30th. The staff got me to the back quickly and treated my abscess promptly and got us out by 130am. They were total sweethearts to me and my dad and answered all questions... more we had. I absolutely love them.
